Professional reviewers agree that Identity Guard’s use of IBM Watson’s artificial intelligence (AI) gives it a powerful tool in scanning for suspicious activity which could compromise your identity. This enables real-time threat alerts and personalized risk assessments. By combining traditional monitoring with AI, Identity Guard maintains it can do a better job of tracking the millions of bits of information that could compromise your identity.
Identity Guard also gets high marks for its affordable plans and $1 million in identity insurance. Some features are only available on the more expensive plans that include detailed credit monitoring and account takeover detection.
All its plans include dark web monitoring, alerts for suspicious transactions, an online dashboard, and mobile app. A dedicated case manager is assigned if you become a victim of identity theft.
The upgraded plans offer more comprehensive monitoring of your credit profile and financial accounts (including your 401k). They also offer home title fraud detection and monitoring of court activity where your identity may be compromised, along with an analysis of your public image on social media and recommendations to improve it.
Identity Guard has three protection plans– Value, Total, and Ultra– each with individual and family options.
The entry-level Value Plan includes scanning and alerts by IBM Watson. It also gives you a dedicated specialist in case of identity theft, $1 million insurance underwritten by AIG, and a mobile app and online dashboard for alerts. You also get a personalized risk assessment from Watson. All plans allow you to use a “safe browsing” extension to help protect against phishing schemes and block unwanted ads. This plan starts as low as $7.50 monthly for individuals and $12.50 for families.
The Total Plan starting at $16.67 for individuals and $25.00 monthly for families adds additional monitoring of your financial accounts with alerts on any attempted bank account opening using your name, a monthly credit score, and updates on any changes in your profile at the three credit bureaus.
The Ultra Plan is priced from $25.00 monthly for individuals and $33.33 for families, giving you home title and address change monitoring, tracking of your credit and debit cards, investment and retirement accounts. This plan features a “social insight report” which can analyze your Facebook account using IBM Watson to assess your online image and make recommendations to improve it.
